Poore, Blanchard Blaze Stanford Track

Results PALO ALTO, Calif. - Indiana opened the outdoor track and field season at the Stanford Invitational on Friday. Chelsea Blanchard and Andrew Poore ran historic times at the Stanford Invitational. Poore clocked a school record in the 10,000 meters and Blanchard clocked the second-best time in IU lore in the 5,000.
Poore clocked a time of 28:48.02 for fifth place in the 10K. His time is the fastest ever by a Hoosier, surpassing IU legend Pat Mandera, whose time of 28:49.2 had stood as the IU record for 39 years.
Blanchard clocked a blazing time of 16:11.84 for fifth among collegiate runners in the women's 5K. The time is the second fastest in IU history, surpassing Jessica Gall.
Hubers clocked a 5K time of 13:48.35, good for sixth among collegiates. The time is the sixth fastest in IU history.
De'Sean Turner made a splash in his return from donning the redshirt indoors. He finished in 14:08.16 for fourth in the second flight of the men's 5,000 meters. The time is 17 seconds faster than his previous all-time outdoor best.
Zach Mayhew clocked a time of 29:38.42 in the 10,000. Sarah Pease finished the 10K in 34:07.35, and Erica Ridderman clocked a time of 34:48.36. Ridderman's time is the ninth-fastest in IU history, and she shed 1:40.54 off her career best.
