    Price Leads Hoosiers in Final Day of Competition at Drake Relays

    DES MOINES, Iowa - The Indiana track and field teams wrapped up competition at Drake Stadium in the 98th running of the Drake Relays on Saturday, April 28, in Des Moines, Iowa.

    Senior Lorian Price led the Hoosiers as she clocked a time of 13.56 for fifth place in the 100-meter hurdles. Classmate Courtney Johnson followed Price in sixth with a time of 13.74.

    Sophomore Candace Perry used a leap of 5.91 meters for eighth place in the long jump. Price also saw time in the pit and placed 19th with a mark of 5.65 meters.

    Freshman Sarah Pease ran a time of 10:54.75 to finish 15th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.

    The women's 1,600-meter sprint medley team, made up of seniors Stacey Clausing, Michelle Huber and Molly Beckwith, and sophomore Caity Lauer, clocked a time of 4:02.20 for 16th place.

    On the men's side, junior Ryan Smith was the lone competitor for IU as he ran a 52.61 for 17th place in the 400-meter hurdles.

    The Hoosiers will be back in action Friday, May 4, when they host the Billy Hayes Invitational on the Billy Hayes Track at the Robert C. Haugh Track and Field Complex in Bloomington, Ind.
