South Bend, Ind.- The Indiana Women's Track and Field team fell 82-78 against Notre Dame at the Meyo Track Friday evening.
The women's team came up with several great performances despite falling just four points short short in the team score.
IU sophomore Jennifer Brown broke her own school record in the 20 pound weight throw (18.01m; 59-1 1/4) and provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships. Brown also won the shot put (14.85m; 48-8 3/4). Junior Angela McGregor joined Brown in the record setting department as she broke junior Cori McLeod's school record of 3.10m in the pole vault by clearing 3.20m (10-6).
Sophomore Rachelle Weiss won her second consecutive triple jump with
a personal best 10.85m (35-7 1/4). Three other Hoosiers won their events:
junior Tarviant Campbell won the 600m dash (1:35.80), junior LaToya Turner
just missed her best of 8.59 seconds as she ran the 60m hurdles in 8.61
seconds, and sophomore Lorraine Dunlop cruised to victory in the 60m dash
in 7.61 seconds.
