SOUTH BEND, Ind. Selected Indiana track and field athletes competed in the Alex Wilson Invitational on Friday night at the University of Notre Dame.
Chris Powers improved his 5,000 meter time by seven seconds, finishing fourth in 14:06.44. The time meets the NCAA Provisional standard. Coming into the meet, Powers ranked 33rd nationally with a time of 14:13.27. Stephen Haas also ran in the 5,000 and placed ninth with a time of 14:14.37. Haas season-best in the event is 14:06.27.
Audrey Giesler competed in the 5,000 meter run on the womens side. Giesler finished eighth in 17:13.45. Her season-best time in the event is 17:02.77.
Jean Schaffer and Christina Archibald competed in the womens high jump on Friday night, but results were not made available.
Lauren Chesnut (triple jump) and the 4x400 relay team of Stacey Clausing, Michelle Huber, LaDonna Ray and Charlene Maddox will competed in the Alex Wilson Invitational on Saturday.
For the men, Ryan Ketchum (shot put), David Neville (200 meter dash) and Russell Hollis (800 meter run) will compete on Saturday.
