"It is very promising to see our student-athletes perform well at the NCAA Championships, especially with that group including seven underclassmen," said Helmer. "We need to take the experience of competing on that level and build on it."

The Indiana men scored 25 points for sixth place at the national meet, the best finish and score since 2005. The point total is tied for the third-most ever for the Hoosiers at the indoor championships. Drouin is IU's first NCAA Champion since Aarik Wilson won the long jump and triple jump titles at the 2005 indoor championships.
