    Columbus, Ohio. --The 1998 Big Ten Outdoor Track & Field Championships concluded with the Indiana's men's team in sixth place (58.50 points) and the IU women's team in eighth (47.50). Final Team Results

    Indiana's men's highlights included a 1-2 finish in the shot put by Zach Fleming (59'02.25") and Kurt Krick (58'08.75") and a third place finish for Ty Yeager in the 110m high hurdles (13.94). Yeager also was seventh in the 400m intermediate hurdles (53.17). Russell Brooks was fifth in the 200m (21.35), while Mikko Simos was seventh in the 800m (1:52.45).

    For Hoosier women, Alicia Creag was seventh in the 200m (24.36) and eighth in the 400m (57.68) and freshman Kendal Willis was sixth in the 100m hurdles (14.22). IU's top finisher was Nathalie Belfort in the high jump as she placed third with a mark of 5'11.25", which is a season personal best for her.
