Koch Inducted into IU Athletics Hall of Fame

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - More than 800 were in attendance on Friday evening as the Indiana University Department of Athletics inducted seven new members to its 2009 Hall of Fame Class in Assembly Hall. Among the inductees was legendary track and field athlete Katrin Koch.
Koch lettered in 1989, 1990, 1991 and 1992. She was a five-time Big Ten Champion in the discus and shot put. She also won an NCAA crown in the shot put. A nine-time All-American, Koch still owns the IU records in the discus and shot put. Koch was also an NCAA champion power lifter. Upon graduation, Koch served as Indiana's assistant director of strength training.
Koch is now the Director of Strength and Conditioning for Olympic Sports at Georgia, a position she has held since 2004.
