Indiana Volleyball held the banquet for the 2011 season on Sunday.
JUNIOR YEAR (2010)
Played in all 35 matches as the Hoosier libero with 34 starts, leading IU to the first Sweet Sixteen appearance in school history ... broke her own single-season school record with 513 digs ... tallied an average of 4.04 digs per set, which ranked sixth in the Big Ten ... her 4.14 digs per set in conference play ranked fourth in the Big Ten ... second on the Hoosier squad with 25 service aces and was third on the team with 137 assists ... matched her career high with 27 digs at Illinois, averaging 6.75 digs per set and tying herself for the seventh-best single-match total in IU history ... had 25 digs versus the Illini at home, managing 6.25 per set ... had seven 20+ dig outputs on the season, including 23 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament against Miami.
SOPHOMORE YEAR (2009)
Broke an all-time IU record, racking up 488 digs ... dug 284 balls during the Big Ten season, good for third-most in school history ... her 488-dig total ranked fourth in the conference ... named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week on Sept . 14 after earning MVP honors at the Hampton Inn Invitational ... averaged 5.20 digs per set en route to the Hoosiers' tournament title at the Hampton Inn Invitational, including a 27-dig performance versus Delaware (seventh-best in school history) ... also notched the ninth-best dig total by picking up 26 balls against Western Michigan the following weekend ... tallied double-digit digs in 17 of the final 18 matches of the year, and 26 times on the season ... team's top passer, successfully receiving serve at a .966 clip ... fired three service aces in six different matches ... third on the team in assists (84) and aces (31) ... an Academic All-Big Ten selection.
FRESHMAN YEAR (2008)
Played in all 32 matches ... named to the Big Ten All-Freshman team after breaking the IU freshman single-season record with 402 digs ... her 402 dug balls were tops on the team and are the fourth highest season total in school history, regardless of class ... averaged 3.32 digs per set, good for ninth-best in the conference ... also made her mark in the Big Ten with 19 service aces during the conference schedule, tying for third most in the league ... stroked 24 aces overall ... racked up a season-high 25 digs twice, both coming against Iowa ... went on a 12-match streak with double-digit dig totals ... tallied 19 double-digit dig efforts on the season ... third on the team with 62 assists.
Named the Indiana Gatorade Player of the Year after leading New Castle Chrysler High to the 2007 Class 4A State Championship, the first volleyball state title in school history ... the Courier Times (2006-07) and Star Press (2007) also recognized her as the state's top volleyball player ... the Courier Times honored her as the Athlete of the Year as well in `07 ... accumulated numerous honors from PrepVolleyball.com throughout her high school career, most notably, an All-American award following her senior season ... placed on the first team all-state squad from 2005-07 ... a first team All-North Central Conference squad member in final two seasons ... led her team to four straight consecutive sectional championships ... owns three significant school records with 1,696 career digs, as well as 97 aces and 571 digs in a single season ... racked up 254 aces, 314 kills, 40 assists and 13 blocks in four years.
PERSONAL The daughter of Tony and Karen Cox ... born on October 5, 1989 ... her brother, Kyle, played both basketball and golf for three seasons while attending Ball State University and also served time as the assistant coach for both the men's and women's Cardinal golf teams post-graduation ... is a Fitness Specialist major.
