Matt Fishman joins the Hoosiers coaching staff for the 2014 season. He will serve as a volunteer coach for the Hoosiers and will help with scouting reports, IU Volleyball camps and assist with practice plans throughout the year.
Fishman, a native of Carmel, Ind. most recently comes from Bishop Chatard High School as an assistant coach of the varsity volleyball program where he helped lead his squad to a 2012 3A State Championship and the school's first 2013 4A Regional title. From 2010-2013, Fishman coached the Indy Junior Volleyball Club and operated as media relations director, web master, assistant recruiting and tournament coordinator and set up and produced live stream events. Fishman was also an assistant coach for the varsity team out of North Central High School while overseeing the junior varsity program as head coach through the 2009-12 seasons.
The Bowling Green State University graduate also brings experience running various camps and clinics, including involvement with KIVA (Kentucky-Indiana Volleyball Academy) Elite Camps from 2009-12. From 2009-11, he provided instruction at the Butler University Junior Bulldog and Nike Elite camps led by current Butler head volleyball coach, Sharon Clark.
Fishman's involvement with the sport of volleyball has occurred off the court as well. He served as the Content Management System Director for the Junior Volleyball Association. Under that title, Fishman developed JVA Dig In Applications and Mini Tournament Apps used by club teams around the country.
A native of Carmel, Ind., Fishman not only has familiarity with the role as coach, but he also brings experience as a player. Fishman was a three-year volleyball letter winner at Carmel High School and was also a member of the Bowling Green State University Club Team.
