Hoosiers Sweep SC State, Move to 4-0

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Indiana Volleyball (4-0) swept South Carolina State (0-4) winning 25-13, 25-22, 25-16. Morgan Leach led the way for the Hoosiers in the match, hitting .444 with a team-high 11 kills, while adding four of IU's 11 service aces.
Awele Nwaeze had nine kills and Jade Henderson and Amelia Anderson both added six. Taylor Lebo added a team-high five aces, which ties her for the second-most in IU history in a three-setter, while IU's 11 aces are the fifth-most ever for the Hoosiers. Lebo added a team-high 10 digs, while Caitlin Hansen had nine. Katie Gallagher dished out a season high 31 assists in the set and led the team with two blocks.
The Hoosiers collared the Bulldogs in the first set, winning 25-13. The Hoosiers hit .650 in the set, killing 14 with only one error. Leach was five for five in the set to lead the way in the set.
The second set was more competitive, but Indiana's nine attacking errors, two service errors and two receiving errors helped the Bulldogs immensely. The Hoosiers pulled out the set 25-22. Leach had five kills in the frame, while the Hoosiers got three each from Jazzmine McDonald, Nwaeze and Anderson. Gallagher dished out 13 assists in the frame and Melanie Hicks led the way with five digs in her first action of the season.
The third set saw the Hoosiers get back on track, committing only five errors en route to a 25-16 win. Lebo had four aces in the set and added four digs. The team also got aces from Leach and Kyndall Merritt in the stanza. Nwaeze and Henderson each had three kills in the third.
