IU Volleyball Sweeps Coastal Carolina

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Indiana Volleyball (5-0) swept Coastal Carolina (1-4) winning 25-21, 25-21, 25-21. The Hoosiers were led by Awele Nwaeze, who had 11 kills on 20 swings and added three blocks. The Hoosiers also got eight kills from Morgan Leach and a career-high seven from Chanté George.
The Hoosiers aced the Chanticlears eight times in the match, including five in the second set and got a pair of aces each from Katie Gallagher, Megan Tallman and Caitlin Hansen. Gallagher and Tallman added 19 and 15 assists respectively, while Hansen had a team-high nine digs. George led the way with four blocks, while Leach and Nwaeze both had three.
Indiana won set one 25-21, storming out to a 24-15 lead before ending a Chanticlear rally with a Nwaeze kill. The Hoosiers hit .312 in the set, getting four kills each from Nwaeze and George. Indiana got a pair of blocks each from Nwaeze and Amelia Anderson.
The Hoosiers won the second set 25-21 as well, getting five kills from Nwaeze. The Hoosiers aced the Chanticlears five times in the stanza as well, getting service points from Jordan Haverly, Gallagher, Tallman and two from Hansen.
The third set saw IU win by a 25-21 margin yet again, getting four kills from Leach. The Hoosiers won a sideout from Coastal on 17 of 22 serves in the set, a 77 percent effort.
