Indiana Volleyball (7-4) got back into the wins column on Saturday, knocking off Chattanooga 3-1 (25-13, 25-9, 18-25, 25-14). The Hoosiers had 10 aces and hit .333, led by Jordan Haverly's 16 kills and five aces.
Haverly was joined by teammates Morgan Leach and Kelci Marschall in double-figures, as the pair finished with 12 and 11 kills respectively. Samantha Thrower had three aces and four blocks to go with six kills, and the Hoosiers hit .471, including an astonishing .619 in the second set. IU got 16 digs from Caitlin Hansen and 11 from Melanie Hicks.
The Hoosiers dominated the opening two sets, winning 25-13 and 25-9. The Hoosiers hit .387 in the first, getting five kills on five swings from Leach, two service aces from Haverly and five digs from Hicks. The second set saw IU hit .619, getting seven kills on eight swings to go with two more aces from Haverly.
The third set saw momentum flip on the Hoosiers as the Mocs hit .286 and IU hit -.065. Chattanooga won 25-18 behind five kills from Jennifer Kuroski.
In the fourth, it was all IU. The Hoosiers played even with UTC to a 9-9 tie before taking 16 of the next 21 points for a 25-14 win. IU hit .471 with 20 kills. Freshman setter Katie Gallagher dished out 15 of her 45 assists in the set, and Marschall had six kills. Hansen added six digs in the set. Freshman Amelia Anderson had five of her eight kills in the set as well.
