Heartbreaker in Five For IU vs. No. 12 Ohio State

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana Volleyball (8-7, 0-4) fell in five sets to No. 12 Ohio State (14-2, 2-2) on Saturday. The Buckeyes prevailed (25-23 20-25, 25-19, 17-25, 17-15). The Hoosiers were led by Awele Nwaeze, who had 15 kills and four blocks, and Morgan Leach, who had 14 kills and three blocks. Caitlin Hansen added 24 digs in the contest.
The first set was back and forth to the end, but Ohio State prevailed 25-23, getting 10 kills from Kaitlyn Leary. IU got five kills from Amelia Anderson and five digs from Caitlin Hansen in the frame.
The second set saw the Hoosiers take a 10-9 lead and never let it go, winning 25-20. Chanté George was unbelievable in the set, hitting .857 in the set and getting six kills on seven swings. George added four blocks in the set, one solo. Leach added five kills in the set, and Hansen had six digs.
The third set went to OSU, 25-19. The Hoosiers got three kills each from Nwaeze and Jade Henderson in the frame, while Henderson and Hansen each added four digs.
The Hoosiers fell behind 5-0 in the fourth set, but they made up for it, taking the lead at 12-11 and never relinquishing it, winning 25-17. Nwaeze had five kills in the set, including set point, on five swings. Leach had four kills, and Hansen had six digs.
The fifth set was back and forth until the end. The Buckeyes prevailed 17-15 after a foot fault and an attacking error by the Hoosiers. IU got three kills from Amelia Anderson and three from Nwaeze in the set. Nwaeze had two of her blocks in the frame as well.
