COLUMBUS, Ohio -
Indiana Volleyball (8-11, 0-7) fell in to No. 19 Ohio State (14-5, 5-2) in four sets (23-25, 25-22, 25-12, 25-17). The Hoosiers took the first set and fell in a tight second set before Ohio State got things going.
The Hoosiers got three players in double-figures as Jordan Haverly and Kelci Marschall each had 11 kills and Samantha Thrower had 10. Morgan Leach added nine kills in the match. Thrower added four blocks, leading IU to 7.5 on the match. Caitlin Hansen had 16 digs and Melanie Hicks added 11.
The first set saw IU rally late to take a 25-23 win. Thrower led the way in the set with five kills, and Leach had two kills and two blocks, including the final two points of the set. Hicks had five digs in the frame.
The second set saw IU jump out to a 12-6 lead but the Ohio State offense got clicking and the Buckeyes roared back to take it 25-22. IU got four kills each from Haverly, Thrower and Marschall in the set. Hansen added nine digs in the frame and Hicks added four.
The third set was all Buckeyes, as OSU hit .481 in the frame and took a convincing 25-12 win. IU got three kills from Marschall in the set, and Haverly had three digs.
The Hoosiers rallied from a big early fourth-set deficit to get within three, but Ohio State pulled away for a 25-17 win. Marschall had three kills in the set and Hansen added four digs.
