Marschall Gets 1,000th Kill, IU Falls to No. 1 Penn State

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Indiana Volleyball (8-12, 0-8) fell at No. 1 Penn State (18-1, 8-0) in four sets (22-25, 25-19, 25-16, 25-21). Senior Kelci Marschall highlighted the match getting a team-high 11 kills, including the 1,000th of her career, making her the 16th Hoosier all-time to reach the milestone.
Indiana won set number one 25-22, taking the lead after a 10-10 tie and never giving it up. IU got four kills from Marschall and five digs from Hansen in the match. Haverly closed out the set with a pair of aces, and she finished the match with three.
Penn State took set two 25-19. With her first kill of the set, Marschall moved her career total to 1,000, becoming Indiana's 16th player all-time to reach the 1,000-kill milestone.
The Nittany Lions got things rolling and won the third set 25-16. IU got three kills from Haverly in the set.
The fourth set went to PSU 25-21. Hicks added a pair of aces and Marschall added four kills in the frame.
