Indiana Volleyball (10-12, 2-8) defeated Wisconsin (15-8, 3-7) in four sets (19-25, 25-17, 30-28, 25-21). The win is Indiana's second-straight in Big Ten play and the first on the road in conference action since taking out the Badgers on October 15, 2010. The Hoosiers tallied 11 service aces, with six players getting in on the action and four Hoosiers finishing with two or more aces.
The Hoosiers were led by Jordan Haverly's 18 kills and got 10 kills each from Morgan Leach and Kelci Marschall. The Hoosiers got a career-high outing from Caitlin Hansen, who had 26 kills, adding four to her previous career-high, which she set against Purdue on Tuesday. Haverly added 11 digs to knotch her 11th double-double of the season, and Courtney Harnish had 14 digs. Samantha Thrower had six blocks in the match.
In the first set, Indiana came out hot and took an 11-6 lead, forcing a Wisconsin timeout. The Badgers came out of the timeout and got right back in it, eventually taking the set 25-19. Indiana got four kills from Morgan Leach in the frame.
The second set saw Indiana come out hot again, only trailing once, at 3-2. Indiana led by as much as 10 and took the set 25-17. The Hoosiers got six kills from Haverly and five from Marschall in the set. Haverly had seven digs in the frame, and Caitlin Hansen had five. The Hoosiers got three aces in the frame.
The third set saw IU charge out to set point at 24-20, but the Badgers knotted things up and earned three set points of their own. Indiana responded each time and eventually took the win, 30-28, on a pair of consecutive aces from freshman Amelia Anderson. IU got six kills from Haverly.
The fourth set was more strong play from Indiana, closing out the victory with a 25-21 set win. IU got three more aces, four kills from Haverly and 11 digs from Hansen in the set. Courtney Harnish
