Indiana Volleyball (12-16, 4-12) knocked off Iowa (10-19, 2-14) in straight sets (25-21, 25-23, 25-16). The Hoosiers hit .333 getting 14 kills from Jordan Haverly and 11 from Samantha Thrower in the match.
Haverly and Thrower were joined by three other Hoosiers with six or more terminations. Thrower had six blocks in the match, and Jade Henderson four blocks to go with her six kills. Whitney Granado had 41 assists and Caitlin Hansen had 15 digs.
Haverly had 11 kills and 10 digs for her 13th double-double of the year. Granado had 36 assists and 11 digs to go with five blocks, tallying her fourth double-double of the year. IU got 11 kills from Kelci Marschall. Caitlin Hansen led the Hoosiers with 15 digs. The match went through three sets without a tie or lead change, but the fourth set provided plenty of dramatics with eight ties and four lead changes.
The first set was all Nebraska, as the Huskers led wire to wire and won 25-11. IU had just six kills, with Haverly and Marschall each adding two.
Indiana won the first set 25-21, getting six blocks in the frame, including five from Thrower. Haverly had four kills in the set and Hansen had six digs.
The Hoosiers and Hawkeyes played point for point most of the way through the second, all the way to a 20-20 tie. Two straight points for Iowa earned a Sherry Dunbar timeout. The Hoosiers came out of the timeout and won three straight and five out of six points. Haverly had six kills and Thrower added five in the set. Hansen had five digs, and Granado had 15 assists.
The Hoosiers closed out the victory with a 25-16 win in the third. IU got four kills from Haverly and four digs from Hansen in the stanza.
