IU Falls to No. 2 Penn State

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana Volleyball (12-17, 4-13) fell to No. 2 Penn State (26-2, 16-1) in three sets (25-21, 25-23, 25-16). Jordan Haverly had 14 kills in three sets of action against the Big Ten's top-ranked team.
Haverly had 14 kills and six digs to lead the Hoosiers. Samantha Thrower had seven kills, and Chanté George had six. Thrower added a pair of aces in the match, and Courtney Harnish had a match-high nine digs.
The Nittany Lions came out hot and could do no wrong in the first, winning 25-12. PSU had just one error and hit .600 in the set. IU hit .065 but Haverly had five kills on 10 swings to lead the way.
The second set was more competitive as IU rallied from a 23-13 deficit to fall 25-18, finishing on a 5-2 run, sparking momentum that would continue after they went to the locker room between sets two and three. Haverly had six kills in set two, and Thrower added five.
The third set was tight throughout, and the Hoosiers played to a 22-22 tie late. The Nittany Lions were able to score three-straight for the win, 25-22. IU got four kills from George in the set, and Harnish added five digs.
