BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -
Indiana Volleyball coach Sherry Dunbar has announced the addition of Shane Wilkinson as Indiana's new director of volleyball operations. Wilkinson comes to Indiana after spending the past two seasons in the same post at South Carolina. Prior to South Carolina, Wilkinson held the same post at Ohio State for three seasons.
"Shane comes to Indiana with glowing reviews from the places he's worked and from everyone that helped interview him," said Dunbar. "He was our first choice and we couldn't be more pleased to have him join the Hoosier family. Coming to Indiana will allow Shane to be back closer to his family and his new niece that was born on New Year's Day. Shane will add many gifts to our program and our athletics department and we feel fortunate to have him here."
Wilkinson coordinated South Carolina's travel and general program operations, served as co-camp director, helped organize on-campus recruiting, worked on video and team statistic breakdown and worked with the marketing team. At Ohio State, Wilkinson helped with video exchange, video breakdown and statistical analysis while coordinating team travel and community service opportunities. Previously, he worked at Ball State, leading the team's efforts with new technology while assisting with team travel, equipment, video and statistical work.
He also worked as general manager of Ball State's student radio station, helping the station claim seven Communicator Awards in 2007, the most in station history. Wilkinson served as play-by-play announcer for the Cardinals' basketball and men's volleyball teams. He earned his bachelors from Ball State in telecommunications in 2008.
