Volleyball Season Starts Saturday with Scrimmage
Aug. 17, 2012
The first of 15 home events for Indiana Volleyball is tomorrow. With just one week until the Hoosiers hit the court for the first time this season in competition, the Hoosiers are hosting the Cream vs. Crimson Scrimmage on Saturday at 6 p.m. ET at University Gymnasium. The scrimmage will be preceded by a Volleyball 101 Rules Clinic at 4 p.m. and a meet and greet with the team at 5 p.m.
The rules clinic was a huge success last year, and it provides fans with an opportunity to better understand the sport and ask questions about what can be at times a confusing game. If you've ever wondered what an official's call was at a match or why a team was awarded a point, this is your chance to learn the ins and outs of the game from IU assistant coach Paul Koncir and volunteer assistant coach Ryan Sullivan.
"After diligently working with Sherry and her amazing staff over the past several months, it is with utmost confidence I can say that University Gymnasium is going to be electric this year with additional elements like our fun kids' corner commonly known as `Hooville' and opportunities to become part of our rewards system called the Attack Pack," said Assistant Director of Marketing Catherine Campbell.
