Hoosiers Play Three Nationally Televised Matches in 2013
Aug 19, 2013
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana Volleyball will play three nationally televised games this season, including the Big Ten's season opener, a Sept. 25 match at Minnesota live on Big Ten Network, and the first Big Ten match on ESPN2 this year, a home match against Penn State on Oct. 3. The Hoosiers also will be live on BTN when they play at rival Purdue on Oct. 22. In addition, IU will have eight matches streamed live via the Big Ten Digital Network this season.
"We are excited to have ESPN2 come to U-Gym for the first time ever this season," said Dunbar, "and it will be great for our team to play three nationally televised games in 2013. Our Big Ten Network match at Minnesota is the kickoff match for all of Big Ten Volleyball, and with many of our other matches appearing on BTN.com, our fans will get to watch a lot of great volleyball this season."
Indiana Volleyball opens the season on Aug. 30 at 7 p.m. ET, hosting Robert Morris as part of the Indiana Invitational. Your first chance to see the Hoosiers this season comes this Saturday, as IU hosts Cream and Crimson Day. The event will consist of a 5 p.m. ET Volleyball 101 rules clinic for fans who want to increase their knowledge of the game, including a question and answer session with IU's coaching staff, a intra-squad scrimmage at 6 p.m., and a team meet and greet following the scrimmage at about 7:30 p.m.
