BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -
Indiana Volleyball's Jordan Haverly is an honorable mention All-Big Ten selection, the Big Ten announced. The junior earns honorable mention accolades for the second time in her career, as she was an honoree in 2010 before sitting out 2011 due to injury. The Big Ten also recognized senior Samantha Thrower as Indiana's Big Ten Sportsmanship Award winner.
Indiana Volleyball head coach Sherry Dunbar said that Haverly played outstanding volleyball throughout the season and is excited to have the junior back for her senior campaign.
"I'm very proud of Jordan's accomplishments this year," said Dunbar. "It was great to have her back on the court after being out a year with injury. I think her best season is still to come with a full spring of training ahead of her."
Haverly finished the season with 480 kills, 281 digs, 38 aces and 47 blocks. The Cherry Valley, Ill., native ranked among the top seven in the Big Ten this season in kills per set (4.03), aces per set (0.32) and points per set (4.56). Her 408 kills are the sixth most in a season in IU history. Haverly had 13 double-doubles on the year and reached double digits in kills in 29 out of IU's 32 matches. The junior finished season on a tear, upping her kills per set to 4.75, her aces per set to 0.56 and her points per set to 5.40 over the last five matches of the season.
