Teamwork and Ball Movement Give No. 11 Indiana a Big Win in Their Second Trip West

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Every single player on the roaster for No. 11 Indiana attempted at least one shot on goal and 11 recorded steals in IU's 16-5 victory over Cal Lutheran Friday at the Axelrod Pool in their opening match of the Claremont Convergence.
Redshirt senior Jakie Kohli scored the two opening goals for the Hoosiers moving her into third place at Indiana for career goals scored with 207 passing Brooke Zimmerman with 206. Kohli needs 17 more goals to move into second place which is currently held by Krista Peterson with 224. Kohli has 27 goals on the season thus far.
Junior Shae Fournier picked up right where Kohli left off offensively, scoring another goal early in the first. Meghan Lappan, Carson Nestler, and Summer Creighton each tacked on another to make it 6-1 at the end of the first quarter.
Fournier scored two more to open the second half finishing the match with a team high three goals.
Every single player on the roster saw playing time for Indiana, each recording stats both offensively and defensively. Freshman Hallie Lindsey scored two goals and had two field blocks in her first trip to California for the Hoosiers.
The Hoosiers will face host school Claremont Mudd-Scripps tonight at 6:00 PST.
