CLAREMONT, Calif. -
No. 11 Indiana continued their dominance of the Claremont Convergence with a 14-8 win in their night game Saturday against host school Claremont Mudd-Scripps at the Axelrod pool. A season high 39 shots on goal were taken as every player on the Hoosiers roster got time in the pool.
Frosty temperatures did nothing to slow down Junior Shae Fournier however. Fournier was a perfect 4-4 on shots on goal. She also had one assist, one steal, and two field blocks on the evening.
Last year's assist leader Colleen McNaught was a big part of the Hoosiers offensive success. She dropped three dimes and had one goal on the match. She has 17 assists so far this season.
Ten different Hoosiers were able to score goals including the freshman trio of Candyce Schroeder, Hallie Lindsey, and Erin Pannek. Center Schroeder finished the match with two goals on four shots and one steal.
Indiana was led defensively by junior Meghan Lappan who had three steals. And even more impressive was that the Hoosiers only had two turnovers the entire match.
IU is now 9-8, moving above .500 for the first time this season. Indiana will face Occidental tomorrow morning at 10:20 am PST.
