Gaudreault and Campbell Earn Co-Defensive Player of the Week Honors
Feb. 27, 2013
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The CWPA has released their weekly honors for the week of February 18-24 and have named Indiana goalies Jessica Gaudreault and Mary Campbell co-defensive players of the week. Both Hoosiers had outstanding weekends in their first ever home meets.
Gaudreault, who has been the starting goalie for Indiana all season, had one of the best matches of her career against 10th ranked Long Beach State. She finished the match with a career high 13 saves. She had 10 saves and zero goals allowed in the first half alone. This came following a monster weekend for Gaudreault in the Bison Invitational where she helped the Hoosiers win over then 10th ranked Princeton.
Campbell got just the second start of her career for Indiana against Washington and Jefferson in day two of the Fluid Four. She had 13 saves during her second start of the season, eclipsing her previous career high of three. Campbell only allowed one goal on 22 shot attempts.
The Hoosiers will travel to Pamona, Calif. to compete in the Claremont Converge next weekend against Cal Lutheran, Claremont, Occidental, and Redlands.
