Mary Campbell Named CWPA Rookie of the Week
April 3, 2013
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Freshman goal keeper Mary Campbell was named CWPA Rookie of the Week following her career-setting match against Michigan this past weekend. This is her second weekly award from the CWPA. She had previously been named co-defensive player of the week for the last month of February along with teammate Jessica Gaudreault.
Despite the Hoosier's over-time loss to their rival, Campbell earned the respect of the conference by recording a new career high 15 saves on 30 shots on goal. She also had one assist, one steal, and only allowed eight goals against in 38 minutes of play.
In just six career starts at Indiana and only 275 minutes played, the Orlando, Fla. native has chalked up an impressive 80 saves and only 58 goals allowed for the season.
Campbell and the Hoosiers travel to Cleveland, Ohio to begin post-season play next weekend at the CWPA Western Championships on April 13-14.
