BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -
Head coach Barry King and the Indiana women's water polo program announced the addition of three student-athletes that will join the team for the 2013 season. Goalkeepers Mary Campbell (Orlando, Fla./Dr. Phillips HS), Jessica Gaudreault (Nepean, Ontario, Canada/St. Joseph HS), and center Hallie Lindsey (El Segundo, Calif./El Segundo HS) complete the incoming class for the Cream and Crimson.
The trio will form a talented five-member class with the previously announced duo of utility Erin Pannek (El Cajon, Calif./The Bishop's School) and center Candyce Schroeder (San Clemente, Calif./San Clemente HS).
MARY CAMPBELL (Orlando, Fla./Dr. Phillips HS)
Campbell was a unanimous First Team All-District goalkeeper selection while competing at Dr. Phillips High School. She has also been named First Team All-West Metro Conference and Second Team All-Central Florida. She set the team record for saves in a season and saves per game in 2012. Campbell served as the squad's co-captain.
Coach King on Campbell:
"Mary has some great physical traits, good length, and a nice initial move. She will be involved in the competition to be our full time goalkeeper."
JESSICA GAUDREAULT (Nepean, Ontario, Canada/St. Joseph HS)
Gaudreault competed on the Canadian Junior National Team in 2011 where they finished ninth at the FINA World Championships. She also helped lead her team to a third place finish at Under-22 Nationals and a second place showing at Under-18 Nationals while serving as the team's co-captain. Gaudreault was named Most Valuable Goalie in Ontario and Most Valuable Goalie for the Ottawa Titans Club in 2011. She was also named Most Valuable Goalie at the 2011 Canadian Select League.
Coach King on Gaudreault:
HALLIE LINDSEY (El Segundo, Calif./El Segundo HS)
"Jessica is a talented goalkeeper that will definitely give us depth. She brings a lot of international experience having played with the Canadian 93 and 94 squads already. We're looking forward to her being involved in the competition to replace Cassie (Wyckoff)."
Lindsey competed at El Segundo High School, while playing club water polo for the Huntington Beach Water Polo Club. She was a Second Team All-CIF selection and a CIF finalist at El Segundo in 2012. She earned Third Team All-CIF honors in 2011. Lindsey also served as the team captain at El Segundo.
Coach King on Lindsey:
"Hallie will give us some nice depth at a position that we were missing depth at and were doing by committee last year. She has had great coaching at the club level from Natalie Benson and we are looking forward to seeing her progress through her time here."
