    Former Hoosier Cassie Wyckoff Named MVP At US Open of Water Polo

    BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Cassie Wyckoff, a 2-time all-american at Indiana and a 2012 graduate, helped the New York Athletic Club (NYAC) to the gold medal at the US Open of Water Polo this past weekend in Atherton, Calif. Wyckoff was also named MVP of the tournament.

    NYAC opened the US Open of Water Polo with a tight 9-8 win over Santa Barbara and followed that with a 20-2 victory against Diablo. The next time out they defeated O-Club, 9-4 and then SOCAL Gold, 11-7, to advance to the semifinals.

    In the semifinals, NYAC topped SOCAL Black, 10-6, before taking down Bruin, 10-8, in the championship match.

    Wyckoff closed her career at IU as the program's all-time leader in saves and set a school record with 356 saves during her final season in the Cream and Crimson.
