Former Hoosiers Earn Silver in FINA World Masters Championships

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Two former Hoosiers, Brooke Zimmerman and Jessica Goldner competed for the Calgary Splash of Canada in the 2014 FINA World Masters Championships. The Water Polo portion of the Championships was competed from July 27 - August 2 in Montréal.
In four games Zimmerman and Goldner's team went 2-2, gaining two victories against the Golden Girls of Canada. The Calgary Splash were bested twice by the Olympic Club of San Francisco. The Splash had had a goal differential of +11 over the four games and brought home the silver medal.
Brooke Zimmerman played attacker for Indiana from 2006-08. In her three seasons as a Hoosier she tallied 206 goals - fifth on the all-time IU list - and 151 assists - first all-time at IU. In 2008, Zimmerman was named ACWPC All-America Honorable Mention. She was also named CWPA All-Division First Team three consecutive years (2006-08).
Goalkeeper, Jessica Goldner protected the Hoosier net from 2002-05. She is second on the career saves list and career shots faced list with 891 and 2033, respectively. Goldner was selected to the CWPA All-Division Second Team three times from 2003-05.
