BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana women's water polo team announced its 2008 schedule on Monday. The Hoosiers begin the season January 26 and 27 at the Michigan Invite followed by two tournaments in the month of February before getting into the heart of the schedule in March.

A trip to College Park, Md., for the Elite Six tournament the first weekend in March, the Hoosiers will travel across the country to California for four games from March 11-14. On March 16, Indiana will return to Ann Arbor to take on Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) foe Michigan and Salem International before returning home to battle Hartwick on March 22, one of two home matches this season for Indiana.

"The home match against Hartwick should be a great match for home fans," Indiana head coach Barry King said. "Hartwick is the two-time defending conference champion and this match gives us a chance to establish ourselves in the elite levels both, in our conference and nationally."

The next weekend, Indiana will host the Fluid Five at the Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center to conclude the home portion on their schedule.

The first weekend in April will see Indiana head off to Erie, Pa. to do battle with CWPA opponents Gannon, Penn State-Behrend and Mercyhurst. On the same trip, the Hoosiers will make stops in Grove City, Pa., Slippery Rock, Pa. and Washington, Pa. to close out the regular season portion of the schedule.

"We are really looking forward to playing this schedule," King said. "There is an emphasis on playing opponents from the other divisions in the Collegiate Water Polo Association. This will prepare us for a run at the conference championship and a bid to the NCAA Championship."

The CWPA Western Division Championships will take place April 18-19 in Grove City, Pa. and the CWPA Championships will held in Ann Arbor, Mich. April 25-27.
