ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Redshirt junior Wendi Robinson finished in eighth place with a time of 20:55.1 in the Big Ten Women's Cross Country Championships at the University of Michigan Golf Course in Ann Arbor. The Hoosiers finished eighth as a team with 180 points in the 6K race.
Robinson earned Second Team All-Big Ten honors with her finish. Redshirt sophomore Sarah Pease finished 25th with a time of 21:36.5. Freshman Chelsea Blanchard crossed the finish line in 22:06.6 to finish in 42nd place. Senior Kristina Trcka clocked a time of 22:17.3 to place 49th and redshirt junior Caity Lauer finished 56th overall with a time of 22:31.0.
"We ran close to some ranked teams in Iowa and Penn State, so as a group we ran well," IU Director and Head Coach Ron Helmer said. "In a situation where they were running against that level of competition, I think we were able to get a lot out of it. Individually, Wendi (Robinson) ran very well today."
Next up for Indiana will be the 2008 NCAA Great Lakes Region Championships in West Lafayette, Ind., on Saturday, Nov. 15.
