Distance Runner Track Update

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -As the Track and Field team prepares for another meet, IUHOOSIERS.com looks back at how the distance runners have faired in the outdoor season so far.
The Indiana track and field team will scatter across the country to participate in several big meets this weekend, April 14-15. The IU distance runners will head west to compete at the 48th annual Mt. Sac Relays at the Hilmer Lodge Stadium in Walnut, Calif. Some members will also run at the Pomona Pitzer Invitational at Strehle Track in Claremont, Calif.
At the Stanford Invitational on March 31 through April 2, Jessica Gall turned in an impressive performance in the 5,000m as she captured a 12th-place finish with a career-best time of 16:16.50. Gall shaved nearly 33 seconds off her previous personal best, which was 16:49.53 at the Stanford Invite in 2003. Her blazing time also ranks as the second fastest time in IU history. Teammate Wendi Robinson also competed in the 5,000m, as she turned in a 22nd-place finish with a time of 16:48.71.
In the 10,000m, Lindsay Hattendorf finished in 24th-place after crossing the finish line at 34:25.97, which also marked a personal best for the Chesterton, Ind., product.
Kelly Siefker competed in her signature event, the 3,000m steeplechase, where she turned in a seventh-place finish with a time of 10:29.15.
