Throughout the 2007-08 season, IUHOOSIERS.com will sit down and get to know the Indiana women's cross country team with a series of question and answer sessions called "Setting the Pace". Senior Kristin Whitezell is next on the list.

If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
I would go to Greece to see where the first Olympics were held.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Being a P.E. teacher and loving every minute of it!

Finish this sentence - Since coming to Indiana, I've learned:
that the country is way better than the city!

What is your favorite childhood memory?
Playing outside all day, every day in the summer with my dog.

Something that many people don't know about you is:
I was born in Rhode Island.

The teammate I most admire is who, and why?
I honestly admire each and every one of my teammates, whether I have run with them for four years, or I am just starting to get to know them. They all have their own story of something they have overcome and fought through to become the successful athletes and runners that they all are. I would not be who I am today without having had the opportunity to run with each of them. Go Hoosiers!

What is your favorite TV show?
It's a tie between SportsCenter and Saved By The Bell.

Do you have any pre-race rituals?
I always wear the same t-shirt to warm up and tie my shoes a certain way. I also give my teammates the pound or a high five while we are doing strides from the line, and let them know that I think they are ready to run fast ... because they always are.

    What is your favorite food?
    Grilled cheese.

What are your goals for this year?
To run fast with my teammates and help us improve upon everything we were able to do last year.
