    BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - IUHoosiers.com will take a look at the newcomers on the Indiana women's cross country team. Next up is freshman Breanne Ehrman.

    Ehrman was a five-time all-state honoree in cross country and track at Westfield High School. She posted personal-bests in the 4K (14:34.8), 5K (19:00), 400 (59.02), 800 (2:16.06), 1,600 (5:08.74), and splits of 57.9 in the 4x400-meter relay and 2:12.4 in the 4x800. She was a state medalist in the 800 in 2005 and 2007. Ehrman helped Westfield earn state cross country titles in 2005, 2006 and 2007. She also anchored the two-time 4x800-meter relay state championship team. The Westfield, Ind., native owns school records in the 800-meters and 4x800-meter relay team. She also helped Westfield to a state record in the distance medley and 4x800.

    Ehrman was a member of the National Honor Society and ranked fifth among 327 students in her class. She was a four-time letterwinner in both cross country and track, and earned three letters in basketball.

    1. If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
    I want to visit Greece. I know people who have been there and have said it was beautiful.

    2. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
    I have no clue what career I will be in, but I see myself starting a family.

    3. Who has been the biggest influence in your life and why?
    My parents have been the biggest influence in my life because they are such caring people. They have always been there for me and have set a wonderful example.

    4. What is your favorite childhood memory?
    My favorite memory is eating ice-cream every Friday night with my sister and brother. It was our night to stay up and watch TV and get ice-cream!

    5. Something that many people don't know about you is:
    I am a very picky eater.



    6. The teammate I most admire is who, and why?
    I admire Wendi (Robinson), because she is our team captain and has so much dedication and talent.

    7. Name one thing that you wish you were better at?
    I wish I was a better singer!

    8. What makes Indiana special from any other program?
    Everyone on the team is so nice and genuine. Everybody works hard and truly cares about the program.

    9. What do you like best about Coach Helmer?
    He knows what he is talking about, and really thinks about what is best for each individual person.

    10. What are your goals for this year?
    I want to improve, and to see how much better I can get.
