    After taking last week off from competition, the Hoosiers are set to get back in action as they compete at Pre-Nationals, hosted by Indiana State University on the LaVern Gibson Golf Course in Terre Haute, Ind., on Saturday, Oct 13.

    The women's 6K blue race puts the Hoosiers up against Akron, Boston College, Butler, Central Michigan, California, Cincinnati, Coastal Carolina, Colorado State, Columbia, Dartmouth, Eastern Kentucky, Florida State, Georgetown, Georgia Tech, IUPUI, Kansas State, Loyola (Ill.), Marquette, Michigan State, Minnesota, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Montana State, Northern Arizona, NC State, Nebraska, New Mexico, Penn, Rice, Stanford, Tulsa, UC-Santa Barbara, North Carolina, Utah State, Virginia, Washington State and Wisconsin.

    The Hoosiers get underway at 12:20 p.m. ET.

    Sophomore Sarah Pease led the Indiana women's cross country team to a 19th place finish with 510 points in the women's Jack Johnson gold 6K race at the 22nd Annual Roy Griak Invitational, hosted by the University of Minnesota at the Les Bolstad Golf Course in Minneapolis, Minn., on Saturday, Sept. 29.

    Pease clocked a time of 22:31 to finish 44th overall for the women's team. Junior Kristina Trcka crossed the finish line in 23:44 to place 100th. Senior Lauren Keefe finished 119th with a time of 24:04 and junior Caity Lauer clocked a time of 24:08 to finish 120th. Senior Maura Ratcliff finished 127th with a time of 24:11, freshman Natalie Goolik placed 127th with a time of 24:17 and sophomore Jenny Kulow clocked a time of 25:21 for 160th overall.



    Sarah Pease led the Hoosier pack for a third consecutive meet as she crossed the finish line in 22:30.1 to take 44th out of a field of 258 runners at the Roy Griak Invitational 6K on Sept. 29.

    Pease led Indiana with a personal best time of 18:08.08 to take sixth at the Indiana Intercollegiates on Sept. 14.

    Along with Sarah Pease, several Hoosiers continue to show improvement by hitting personal best times at the Indiana Intercollegiates on Sept. 14.

    Joining Pease were Sarah Bielski (20:19.09), Natalie Goolik (18:55.89), Lauren Keefe (19:12.18), Jenny Kulow (19:07.35), Caity Lauer (18:57.27) and Maura Ratcliff (18:45.52).

    Ron Helmer was named the Indiana Director and Head Coach of Men's and Women's Cross Country and Track & Field on May 25, 2007. Helmer served in the same capacity at Georgetown University the last eight years.

    Helmer was promoted to director in July 1999 after serving as associate head coach with the Hoyas for seven seasons and assistant coach for the five years prior. During his tenure, 120 of his student-athletes earned a total of 342 All-American recognitions, including 41 student-athletes receiving 96 certificates since becoming director in 1999. In addition, 219 student-athletes captured BIG EAST individual titles, including 67 since the start of the 1999-00 academic year.

    The Hoosiers will host the Great Lakes Regional Championship on Saturday, Nov. 10. This year's regional meet marks the first one in Bloomington since 2005 and the second time IU has been the host.

    The women's race is slated for 12:15 p.m. ET.
