    Women's 6K - 10:45 a.m. | Men's 8K - 11:30 a.m. ET

    The Hoosiers open the championship portion of the season with the Big Ten Championships on Sunday, Nov. 2, in Ann Arbor, Mich. The women's will start off the event with a 6K race at 10:45 a.m. ET on the University of Michigan Golf Course. The men will run an 8K, scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m.

    The Indiana men's cross country team remained ranked at No. 19 in this week's USTFCCCA Top 30 poll. The Hoosiers picked up 149 votes this week. IU entered the USTFCCCA poll for the first time last week at No. 19, after finishing eighth at Pre-Nationals on Oct. 18 in Terre Haute, Ind.

    Indiana held its spots in this week's USTFCCCA Great Lakes Region poll. The men enter this weekend's championship ranked No. 3 in the poll, while the women's team head into Sunday ranked at No. 4 in the region.

    The Hoosiers' next event will be the 2008 Great Lakes Region Championships, hosted by Purdue in West Lafayette, Ind., on Saturday, Nov. 15. The women will run a 6K and the men will run a 10K on the Varsity Cross Country Course. The season wraps up with the NCAA Championships at the LaVern Gibson Course in Terre Haute on Monday, Nov. 24.

    The Indiana men's and women's cross country teams got their first look at the site of the NCAA Championships when they competed at Pre-Nationals at the LaVern Gibson Course in Terre Haute, Ind. The men's team finished eighth in the White 8K race with a score of 219 points, while the women finished 14th in the Blue 6K with 438 points.

    Redshirt senior Brennon Plotner led the Hoosiers as he crossed the finish line in a personal-best 24:19.9 to place 30th overall among a field of 267 athletes. He was followed by sophomore Ben Hubers in 31st place with a time of 24:12.4, also a personal best. Senior Timothy McLeod placed 45th with a personal-best time of 24:22.1. Redshirt freshman Andrew Poore finished 53rd with a time of 24:26.4, and sophomore Cole Hardacre wrapped up the Hoosier top five in 60th place with a time of 24:31.5.

    Sophomore Jacob Laird finished in 25:05.7 to finish 124th, while redshirt freshman Andrew Weatherford finished in 163rd place in 25:24.6.

    In the men's open 8K, redshirt freshman De'Sean Turner finished 30th overall with a time of 25:25.5 and redshirt junior Tom Martin placed 105th in 26:50.6.

    Redshirt junior Wendi Robinson finished 23rd among a field of 278 with a time of 20:52.5 to lead the women's team for a new personal-best on a 6K course. Redshirt sophomore Sarah Pease finished 78th overall in 21:34.1. Senior Kristina Trcka was the third Hoosier to cross the finish line with a time of 21:43.3 for 90th overall. Freshman Chelsea Blanchard finished in 104th place with a time of 21:54.7, and redshirt junior Caity Lauer wrapped up the IU top five in 143rd place with a time of 22:17.7.

    Freshmen Kaylan Comer and Breanne Ehrman were the sixth (216th/22:59.4) and seventh (276th/25:30.1) Hoosiers to cross the finish, respectively.

    In the women's open 6K, sophomore Natalie Goolik finished 82nd (23:17.7), junior Jenny Kulow placed 83rd (23:19.4), freshman Erin Walgamuth finished in 131st place (24:38.9) and freshman Helene Delone placed 140th (25:13.5).
