    IU PLACES FIFTH AT THE BIG TEN cc CHAMPIONSHIPS

    University Park, PA- The Indiana University women's cc team competed in the 1999 Big Ten cc Championships at Penn State today. The Hoosiers finished fifth with 132 points.

    The top finisher for IU was freshman Amanda Bell. Bell came in sixth place with a time of 17.30.6. Not only did Bell have her best time of the season so far, but she currently holds the top time in the 5K for IU this season. Finishing second for the Hoosiers was senior Monica Hostetler. Hostetler came in 16th place with a time of 17:46.4. She joins Bell by improving her time in the 5K. Her old time was 18:12.1.

    IU will run in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional on November 13 in Terre Haute, Indiana.
