Football and baseball 1926-29...assistant football coach 1930-48, baseball coach 1939-47, Athletic Diretor 1948-54...set IU career batting record with .404 average and holds IU record with and 86-yard punt...played key role in creation of golf course, Memorial Stadium and Assembly Hall.


Ernie Andres
Basketball and baseball 1937-39, captain 1939...baseball coach 1949-73, assistant basketball coach 1949-58...All-Big Ten and All-American in basketball in 1938 and 1939...set IU and Big Ten scoring records...only IU athlete to make it to the major league level in two sports.


Chet Jastremski
Swimming 1961-63, co-captain 1963...recognized as world's greatest swimmer in his day...won 17 AAU titles in the breaststrokes, individual medley and medley relay and at one time held all four world record in breaststroke...U.S. Olympian in 1964 and 1968 and doctor for Olympic team in 1976.


Archie Dees
Basketball 1956-58...All-Big Ten and All-American who led the Hoosiers to two Big Ten championships...first player in league history to win Big Ten MVP award twice...led conference in scoring two years and had career totals of 1,546 points, 914 rebounds, with averages of 22.7 points and 13.4 rebounds.
