    Basketball 1939-41...baseball 1939-41...starter on 1940 championship basketball team...honorary captain in 1941, when he was All-Big Ten selection and Look Magazine All-American...played professionally in both sports, in basketball with Indianapolis Katusky's, in baseball with Brooklyn Dodgers organization...served IU for over 30 years as assistant and associate athletic director and as member of University Relations staff.

    Track 1940-42 and captain in 1942...cross country 1939-40...helped lead Hoosier teams to two Big Ten track titles and 1940 NCAA cross country championship...three-time All-American in track...won Big Ten titles indoors in the mile (1940, 1941 and 1942) and in the 880 (1941 and 1942)...won Big Ten and NCAA titles outdoors in the 880 in 1940 and 1941...picked as a member of the 1940 U.S. Olympic team although the Games were later cancelled.

    Cross Country coach 1930-35, 1938...led IU teams to Big Ten championships in 1930, 1931 and 1932, and to national AAU championships in 1931 and 1936, when Hoosier runners placed 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6...earned world-wide recognition in the field of research on the physiology of excercise, which in 1967 won him the Honor Award of the American College of Sports Medicine...ran track at Mississippi State and was a member of the 1928 U.S. Olympic Team in the 1,500 meters.

    Basketball 1963-65...co-Most Valuable Player in both 1964 and 1965 with twin brother, Tom...All-Big Ten and All American in 1965...Academic All-American in both 1964 and 1965...finished IU career with 1,240 points and 719 rebounds...went on to successful career in the NBA and was a member of the NBA All-Star Team on three occasions.
