    Swimming coach from 1959-1990...in 34 years led the Hoosiers to 23 Big Ten titles, including 20 in a row from 1961-80, and to six NCAA titles, from 1969-74...coached United States Olympic teams in 1964 and 1976, with the '76 team winning 12 of 13 gold medals and setting 18 world records ...twice named U.S. Coach of the Year...member of International Swimming and Diving Hall of Fame... President of American Swimming Coaches Association...recognized throughout the world as swimming's foremost authority...in 1979 became the oldest person to swim the English Channel...captain and Big Ten champion breaststroker at Ohio State University in 1946-47.

Aztecs.
