The Vanguard. Highlighting the people, places, things and decisions that have made Indiana University Athletics the leader in innovation and innovative thinking in intercollegiate athletics.

George Taliaferro: Ground Breaker. In 1949, the three-time IU All-American and member of IU’s 1945 unbeaten and Big Ten Championship football team was the first African-American player drafted by an NFL team, selected by the Chicago Bears.

Brand and Uniform Guidelines. A roadmap to most effectively communicate and promote Indiana Athletics to its fans and other stakeholders.

First-of-its-Kind Policy: Student Athlete Bill of Rights. At Indiana, student athletes come first – school officials care about them as people and students as well as athletes.

MLB Pitcher Dunning Taking Advantage of IU's "Lifetime Degree Guarantee". The Lifetime Degree Guarantee allows former Hoosier student-athletes who left early to return and complete their undergraduate degrees.

Cutting Edge -- Spanish Broadcasts Help Keep IU Soccer Unique. Sometimes you have to get creative to land the best players and promote the program, and this creativity features play-by-play calls from a bilingual sports broadcasting major.

Garrett, IU Changed Course of Big Ten Basketball. Before his December 4, 1948 Big Ten color barrier shattering varsity debut, that alone was reason enough to keep him from playing college basketball in the conference.

"Indiana Rule" Another Example of IU Athletics' Vision, Leadership. When it comes to sexual assault, Indiana University has zero tolerance. Unlike every other Big Ten school, Indiana backs it up with a specific policy.

New Tennis Technology. Major gift brings new, cutting-edge PlaySight tennis technology to both Indiana University, Bloomington tennis communities.

The Doctor Is In. Indiana University writes another chapter in its history of innovation in the world of intercollegiate athletics by naming Dr. Matt Rhea the first "speed specialist" in the history of college football with a Ph.D.

New Control Rooms, New Set Up. With new Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall Control Rooms, Indiana University Athletics takes the lead by being the first to adopt IP Infrastructure set-up.
